Training Classes

We are pleased to offer group training classes. Training classes are a great way to teach our dogs manners and tricks, with the goal of shaping our furry best friends to be great canine citizens and to help further build our working relationships!  Our classes are small (no more than four training teams) to ensure that we can offer focussed, hands-on attention during class.

Classes:

We offer Puppy class (for dogs under 7 months) and Beginner class (for dogs 7 months and older) to start with the training basics. We are committed to ethical & humane training practices and utilize up-to-date, scientifically-backed training methods. Classes are 7 weeks long and $195.00 + tax.

Scent Detection Class: 

Scent Detection and Nosework is a recreational activity designed for our dogs to enjoy the challenge of locating a target scent and communicating with their handler that the scent has been located. In competitive nosework, the handler trusts their dog’s nose to detect a particular scent, which the dog has been trained to locate, and then follow the trail of that scent to where it is hidden. Nosework is intrinsically rewarding to our dogs and is great for young puppies, senior dogs, high-energy dogs, shy dogs, and everydog in between! 

Our beginner nosework class is geared towards preparing you and your pup to begin the fun of sporting scent detection. We will work on beginner level container searches, interior searches, and exterior searches (pending weather). Class is taught by a sanctioned Canadian Kennel Club Scent Detection Judge. Class is 7 weeks long and you will get a scent kit to help you practice at home. Dogs must be able to crate quietly, as dogs will work one at a time in class.

Advanced Scent Detection: This class is for students who have completed our beginner scent detection class and want to continue on! We will work towards advanced sporting detection skills and preparing for the higher levels of scent detection training and competition. Class is 7 weeks long and you will get an additional scent kit to continue practicing at home.
